Small marbles were found in a child’s grave in Egypt dating back 4,000 years. They were found with a set of ninepins and three rectangular bricks that could have been used to form an arch to roll the marbles through.
The wonderful game of Marbles Bridge appeared around the time of the Tudors where they rolled marbles through bridges with numbered arches. It is a great way for children to enjoy simple arithmetic.
